'The Pay Day (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)' Released
Movie Score Media releases the new soundtrack by Daisy Coole and Tom Nettleship as Two Twenty Two following the US Theatrical release of the The Pay Day.
The soundtrack is a classic heist score with subtle flavours of 90's RnB, which was the brief from The Pay Day director, Sam Bradford. The comedy heist score moves between three key ideas: smokey jazz noir for the villain, 90's RnB-inspired cues reflecting the burgeoning romance between the two leads and, of course the pivotal heist montages with stylised screen wipes and cutaways, which are punctuated by funk grooves and a five-piece horn section. To contrast with the upbeat heist grooves, we approached the villain's scenes as though it were shot in the 1960s Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, complete with muted trumpet, alto flute and the ever present bluesy wurlitzer, around which much of the score is centred.
